Aura Ulm grew up in a small town west of Peoria IL. She graduated from high school and has some college. Ms. Ulm’s work experience started in retail as sales clerk then promoted to Ladies Accessories Manager at Carson Pirie Scott, Galesburg IL. She moved to Grand Rapids MI and worked as administrative assistant at Foremost Insurance Company. She then moved on to Meijer Inc. as administrative assistance then assigned to the training department. Here she worked in the media area.
Ms. Ulm made the decision to enlist as a ‘weekend warrior’ in the Air Force Reserves, Grissom AFB, Peru IN and was trained as administrative personnel in Base Operations. After four years, she transferred to the Air National Guard Base, Battle Creek MI, in Base Operations again as a ‘weekend warrior’. While at BCANGB she was promoted to full-time Visual Information/ Multimedia manager and trained in photography, video production, and computer graphics. Total military experience was 26 plus years and separated in 2006 at the rank of Master Sergeant.
In 2008 she and husband, John and two little fur-balls moved to Louisville KY where she continues in the media field on a freelance/volunteer basis.
Ms. Ulm is an active member in Athena’s Sisters-Media Board Member, Louisville Genealogy Society, Louisville Film Society, Louisville Photographic Society, The Photo Forum, and Inventors Council of Central KY.
