Athena’s Sisters second retreat, in partnership with the Life Adventure Center, is now open for registration. This year, our focus will be Transitions to Healing and we will experience 5 days of healing practices for our sisterhood.
Acitivites will include, but are not limited to, yoga, mindfulness practices, reading, equine therapy, pscyhosocial therapeutic education, art, team building physical activities, nature walks, and daily rest & relaxation time.
We will only be taking a maximum of 12 women.
There is a $50 registration fee for Athena’s Sisters members ($75 for non-members) REQUIRED for registration.
Everything will be provided, including all meals and supplies for the program. The only thing you are responsible for is the registration fee, your personal belongings/needs, and your part in maintaining a safe space for all of our sisters. Dr. Bernadette Walter from the UofL Psychology Clinic will be with us and available at all times.
Each participant must commit to the 5 days on site. It is really important for the group process that we stay together. Five days is a big commitment, but we all know healing work is hard work and it takes commitment. This retreat is an amazing opportunity for us to expand what we have already begun in our own unique journeys by learning new things, sharing with our Sisters, and expanding our “tool box” for coping skills and self-reflection. Personal time will be scheduled along with writing prompts to help process the daily events. Sleeping accommodations are in a bunk house but there are enough beds for us all to be on bottom bunks. There is a very short walking distance to the main building where we will rally every day and most activities will happen.
The site is BEAUTIFUL and I can promise many laughs, personal growth, and great memories from these 5 days.
